Kansas City, Missouri police have identified the 22nd transgender person killed in the United States this year.
According to KCTV, 30-year-old Brianna Hill endured gunshots to death on October 11 at around 11:30 a.m. local time. The incident may/may not have taken place in Hill’s home.
Her killer is not known. The gunman did not leave the scene and stated to have waited for law enforcement officials to arrive.
The news station says authorities are not reviewing other suspects but have not ascertained a motive for Hill’s murder.
Hill is at least the second transgender person to be killed in Kansas City this year. The body of 32-year-old Brooklyn Lindsey appeared on the front porch of an abandoned home on June 25 after she endured multiple gunshots. Marcus Lewis is in custody for her death earlier this year and faces charges of second-degree murder.
